I tried to tune out the election as much as possible, but my phone kept going off as every campaign in the state badgered me to vote this way or that.  One signature success I had this year was eliminating door-to-door canvassers.  I did this by hanging a sign from the tree along the walk to my porch that read:

Boo!
* No Soliciting
* No Canvassing
We already know who we are voting for and have enough stuff, thank you.
Happy Halloween!

The key was including canvassing, because it is legally different from soliciting.

As for the outcome, I would be lying if I said that I'm not intrigued by Trump's promise to reinstate or compensate military members forced out by the vaccine mandate.  We shall see.

My greatest source of joy, however, is in the universal acceptance of the result and lack of violence.  For many months I have prayed for this outcome, and am now offering prayers of gratitude.

The Enemy is still on the move, and the long war continues, but yet again God has put forth His power and for that we must be thankful.

    The lack of spontaneous violence, only means that it has been carefully planned and will come later. I don’t believe that the communists will go quietly at all.

    I have seen no evidence of careful planning on the part of the Democrats since 2020. They’ve been stepping on a yard full of rakes for four years, which is the major reason for Trump’s victory.
    At this late date, the endless campaign against Trump, labeling “abnormal” or “fascist” has decisively failed. There will still be ham-handed attempts to get at him, but the operational environment has been transformed. He is no longer new, but instead familiar and trusted by a majority of voters. His media strategy completely bypassed the old networks and I expect that to continue. He will put podcasters in the front row and just ignore CNN and MSNBC. I expect him to have regular sit-downs with Rogan. The fact that world leaders are openly negotiating with him and ignoring the sitting government speaks volumes.

    I think the “evidence” of the planning is that they’re pretending to stoically accept defeat. We did not see evidence of BLM’s machine until Floyd died of an overdose that could be twisted into murder, hatred of “whiteness” and riots with high quality printed signage and piles of bricks strategically left on street corners. We didn’t see the planning that went into the J6 trap either, until it was too late.
    The rapid, about face conciliatory BS spouted by Biden, who just finished calling us nazis and garbage, should be a sign that they are seeking deniability for their next steps. The nazi, fascist stuff will not abate and isn’t going away. I looked at the book thread this morning to see that the political preoccupation with anything nazi continues to pervade the American imagination and is the framework for a world view. The search for nazis will continue and they’ll all look the same. We can have blacks cast in Jane Austen remakes, but we will never see them as nazis. LOL

    Given that I wasn’t even sure there would be an election, I admire your persistent pessimism. However, the situation has been dramatically transformed. No longer is Trump a novice, trying to navigate a hidden Deep State whose agents managed to penetrate his own inner circle.
    Trump’s Long March has resulted in not only a fiercely loyal staff, but far better planning and superior understanding of presidential power. Trump now knows, thanks to the raid on his home, that as president, he is the ultimate authority on classification. He can literally stroll into any secure facility and demand to see its inner vaults. Employee who resist can be immediately suspended pending termination for insubordination. This was not on the table four years ago.
    He has also neutered the media. They cannot stop him. He need only go on Rogan or some of the other podcasts to reach fantastically large audiences and make his case.
    I urge you to watch the videos circulating, where he spells out his exact plans – effectively telling the Deep State that they have no cards left to play. If there is Antifa action, the J6 precedent means they will get maximum sentences because that’s how the feds played it then. Can’t change now, can they?
    Remember, the greatest weakness of the left is their abject personal cowardice. They will say anything you ask if you let them go. They also have no loyalty to one another, and right now everyone of them is trying to cut a deal. Watch the clips of the Al Smith Dinner where Trump lays a reassuring hand on a clearly worked up Chuck Schumer. Right now they are working out the terms of surrender and what they can do to escape. Joe’s invitation to dine will be about giving up secrets in exchange for letting him spend his waning years in peace.
    I could be wrong, but that’s the vibe I’m getting. These people show genuine fear, not the confidence they did in 2020 or 2016.

    I hope you’re right, but this remains their once in a lifetime chance to “fundamentally transform America” into the USSR or East Germany. I don’t see them just resigning to the situation. The deep state still has cards as they are sadly written into the agency and job descriptions. When Col Bearclaw announced that it was his job to set policy, we gasped in amazement at his cheek and chutzpa. But in reality “making policy” IS in their job descriptions and contracts. I know this from a Trump senior advisor, who rooted through the manuals in his assigned department and saw that during the Obama admin this was baked into the cake. Trump and company will still have their work cut out for them. Nothing will come easily. Why would Schumer surrender when McConnell is already planning on holding the leadership vote before the new members are even sworn in. The resistance will continue to include the GOP. Thune and Cornyn do not seem fearful.
    Joe spilling his guts to keep the kidlets out of jail would be a great thing, and I’ll be properly ecstatic when it occurs
