When I bought Witness, it was cheaper to get it with The Fugitive, which I remembered as being a decent but unremarkable movie.
I really like Witness.
The Fugitive? Not so much.
I mean, it's okay as a film, keeps you interested and the plot holes in it aren't stupendously large, but it hasn't aged particularly well.
The whole "ruthlessly competent federal agents showing state law enforcement how it's done" schtick is obviously beyond its expiration date.
The other problem is that – like The Scarlet Letter – the big reveal isn't really all that big because by the time we get to it, there's only one character left who is unaccounted for. Obviously, it's him.
One thing I did like about it was that it made Big Pharma the villain, which was refreshing. Right now Big Pharma is our bestest buddy, and would never like about anything, but back then, Hollywood found them to make good villains.
I'll also add a shout-out to seeing a very young Nick Searcy as a county sheriff. That was fun.
